I decided to transform an extra bedroom into my craft and sewing room.
Theme: Creativity
After browsing pinterest here is what I have come up with so far.Fabric:
My first project was to organize my fabric. I had it in tubs, but loved the idea from pinterest to wrap it onto foam-core board.I found the least expensive place to get the foam-core board was at the Dollar Store. Their boards were 20"x30" and only $1; instead of 20"x28" at most of the office stores with prices $2.99 and up.
With the 20x30 size you can get 6 (10" squares).
I first cut it in half lengthwise to get two 10" x 30" strips. Then I cut them into thirds to get six 10"x10" squares.
Next I measured the fabric, and noted it on a post-it note, so that I know how much I have and put it in the upper right-hand corner, so that it's easy to see.
Then I folded and wrapped the fabric onto the board.
You can organize it several different ways on your shelf; by colors; by type of fabric and then by color; by color and then type of fabric; or by themes. I have chosen to organize mine by color and then by type of fabric in that color.
For now, I am using my old homemade bookcases I already have but eventually I may purchase more that match the other bookcases in the room.
Ribbon:
Another find on pinterest. I am wrapping my ribbon onto jumbo popsicle sticks and organizing them by color and putting them into jars to display on shelves.Walls:
I want to put a saying on the wall to help inspire me each day.Rulers and cutting supplies:
Pinterest find also. I had my husband router some scrap wood he wasn't using and put some holes in it to hang on the wall. It is 4"x24". Next I paint it white and modge-podge some scrapbook paper on it. Last step is to nail some nails into it to hang the rulers from.Credits and pictures will be coming soon.
